The exquisite Sri-Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Temple of
Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, Muni-ki-reti, celebrated its first
anniversary “Bramha-Mahotsava” on 24th & 25th March 2005,
elaborately with full dignity & colour. Three learned Pandits of
renowned Kancheepuram, Pt. Suresh Shastri, Pt. Murali Shastri &
Pt. Baddu Shastri, were specially invited by Swami
Vishweshwaranandaji, President of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas,
to supervise and conduct this holy ceremony meticulously. A
large number of devotees & invitees were present on both the
days to witness this religious function at the Temple premises.

Ganapati Navagraha Kalash Sthapana

March,’05:
The auspicious rituals began in the morning of 24th March,’05 at
7.30 a.m. with ‘Ganapati Navagraha Kalash Sthapana’ in which the
holy Kalash was installed with chanting of hymns. It was
followed by ‘Ganapati Aavaran Puja’ where the deities were
invoked to bless the ceremony. Subsequently, ‘Ganapati Navagraha
Yagna’ was conducted in the Yajnashala of the temple premises in
which Swami Vishweshwaranandaji, Swami Satchidanandaji & Km.
Somashekhari offered the Aahutis to the deities. The last ritual
was ‘Ganapati Abhishekam’ by the priests. The morning programme
concluded with Aarati, Bhog and distribution of Prasadam.
In the evening, ‘Sahashra-Kalash-Sthapana’ was arranged in which
1000 holy kalash were dedicated to Sri-Kamakshi-Devi & to all
the deities Sri-Meenakshi, Sri-Chamundi, etc. installed in the
temple. Simultaneously, Kalash & Devi Puja was conducted by the
priests. The ceremony started at 7.30 p.m. and continued upto 10
p.m.

March 2005:
The day’s ceremony began at 7.30 a.m. with ‘Nava-Aavaran Yagna’
for Sri-Kamakshi-Devi. Consequently, Swami Vishweshwaranandaji &
Km. Somashekhariji performed ‘Yagnas’ dedicated to all the
deities of the Temple. They also performed a special
‘Lalita-Sahasra-Namavali-Yagna’ in this occasion. Yagnas
continued upto 10 a.m. in the morning. After that, ‘All-Deities
– Abhisekam’ was conducted by the priests and was followed with
‘Sahasra-Kalash-Maha-Abhisekam’ of Sri-Kamakshi-Devi. At the
end, the temple priests – Pt. Suresh Joshi, Pt. Sanjay Shastri &
Pt. Jagdish Shastri performed Aarati & Bhog ceremony which ended
at 1.00 p.m. in the noon. Prasadam was distributed to all the
devotees present.

The concluding ceremony of this holy Mahotsava commenced at 8.30
p.m. in the evening with Sri-Kamakshi-Nava-Aavaran Puja and
Aarati by the priests which continued upto 10.00 p.m. in the
night.
